The Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship

A professional organization, the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) represents general dentists. Established to provide its members with continuing education, it also advocates for the advancement of general dentistry and oral health. Some members have distinguished themselves professionally and pursued the AGD Fellowship Award.

To become an AGD Fellow, dentists must meet several requirements. For example, candidates must have an active AGD membership for three continuous years by December 31 of the application year. Applicants must keep their licenses in good standing within five years before applying, including no suspensions or revocations by any regulatory body. Next, applicants must have completed 500 hours of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 350 hours in live courses that require attendance. Additionally, candidates must pass the AGD Fellowship examination.

AGD Fellowship applications must have a postmark date of no later than December 31 of the last qualifying year for consideration.

Successful AGD Fellowship candidates receive honors during the AGD Convocation Ceremony at the annual AGD Scientific Session.
